Description
PLEASE NOTE: RACE SIGN IN WILL BEGIN AT THE LBC QUAD AT 9:30 AM
Tulane Panhellenic Council, Tulane National Pan-Hellenic Council, Tulane Interfraternity Council and the Tulane Multicultural Greek Council, which oversee all aspects of Greek life at Tulane, are joining together to sponsor a 5K to benefit the St. Bernard Project- New Orleans. The St. Bernard Project has been working tirelessly since Hurricane Katrina to help New Orleans families rebuilt their homes.
Additionally, the St. Bernard Project works to rebuild homes for New Orleanians who cannot afford the cost of rebuilding, turns abandoned homes into affordable housing, and provides jobs, job placement and job training to under or unemployed residents, particularly veterans, at-risk youth, and returning citizens. Approximately 6000 families in New Orleans do not have the resources or finances to rebuild their homes a decade after Hurricane Katrina. St. Bernard receives about 15 calls per week from residents seeking help rebuilding. For more information see: http://www.stbernardproject.org/new-orleans.html
This race is a run or walk and is open to anyone who wishes to participate. First place finishers will receive a prize, and each participant will receive a t-shirt. Additional donations are also accepted.
