Viking Sports Village Miler

About This Event 
The Viking Sports Village Miler is a one-mile race planned collaboratively by the Brookline Extended Day Advisory Council, the Town of Brookline, and Viking Sports. The race will take place at 2pm on Sunday, June 14th, 2020, as part of The Village Fair, a large street festival in Brookline Village. The race will be chip-timed by New England Timing.  Proceeds are donated to support after school programming for low-income and at-risk elementary school children in Brookline.  

Course Description 
Our 1 Mile route is a flat, fast course. The race starts on Linden St. through Toxteth St. to Longwood Playground and back.  

Awards 
An award ceremony will follow the race, at approximately 3:00PM. Awards will be given to the the top three male and female overall, as well as to the top three male and female in the following age-group categories: 

4 & Under 
5 - 8 
9 - 12 
13 - 17 
18+ 

Race Day Registration
Race Day Registration will be available online ONLY. 
Registration closes at 1PM on race day. We encourage everyone to pre-register.

T-Shirts 
All race participants will receive a T-shirt! The T-shirts will come in unisex sizing for children and adults. In order to guarantee T-shirt sizes, please plan on picking up your race bib early at the Friday and Saturday packet pickups held at the Viking Activity Center.  Sizing of T-shirts is not guaranteed for race day pickup/registration.

Packet Pickup 
Pre-race packet pickup will be held at the Viking Activity Center in Brookline (143 Cypress St, Brookline, MA 02445).  Packet pickup will take place from 11AM - 1PM on Saturday, June 13th.

Race-Day Volunteers 
If you or a group of individuals are interested in volunteering on the day of the race, there are many opportunities to do so! Volunteer roles include, but are not limited to, race set-up and break-down, registration table assistance, course marshals, cheering squads, etc.
