Race Judicata - A Run for the Bar

Hampden County Bar Association's 10th Annual Race Judicata - A Run for the Bar's 5k Run/Walk will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Ashley Reservoir.

The proceeds will benefit the Children's Law Project, Archer B. Battista Veterans Scholarship, John F. Moriarty Scholarship, and the David A. Ladizki Scholarship.

The Children's Law Project program recognizes that children suffer emotionally, mentally and event financially when their parents engage in contested court proceedings. Through this program, attorneys are appointed to represent the children involved in contested custody and visitation matters pending in Hampden County Probate and Family Court. The child is the attorney's client, and the attorney voices the child's position when parents or guardians cannot agree on what is best for the child.

The Colonel Archer B. Battista Veterans Scholarship is used to financially assist veterans and active members of the military who are attending law school. The John F. Moriarty Scholarship and the David A. Ladizki Scholarship are awarded to Hampden & Hampshire County residents attending law school. Race Judicata – A Run for the Bar will begin and end at the Holyoke Elks Lodge, 250 Whitney Avenue, Holyoke, MA.  The race will take place around the Ashley Reservoir which is a quiet, scenic place to run.  It is a great trail for beginners because it is not hilly, and it is great for advanced runners to build speed.  Gravel paths make it excellent for running, walking or using a jogging stroller.  

*Dogs are not allowed.

There will be no restrooms along the course.

Food, water and entertainment will be provided after the race.

ENTRY FEES:

$25.00 by October 13, 2023

$35.00 Race Day Registration starting at 10:00AM

Start time will be 11:00a.m. with lunch beginning at 11:30.  Live music from 11:30-1:30
