3. Share this link with your friends, family or post on social media.
4. After 5 registrants sign up using your unique referral link you will automatically receive a refund of your registration fee

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. Sign up. You’re already in the right place! During registration you’ll answer a few questions, and tell us what you think you will run or walk the course in. Don’t worry - you are able to edit this prediction all the way up until July 29th (day before the race) so if your fitness (or strategy) changes be sure to log in to your RunSignup profile and edit your predicted time!.
2. Pick up your gear. We’ll host a packet pickup at the Charm City Run store in Timonium on Friday, July 29th. You’ll grab your race shirt, bib, medal, and maybe some last-minute tips from the race staff.
3. Join us on race day. Arrive at the Westshore Park at least 45 minutes prior to race time and we’ll give some final instructions. If you MUST run with your watch, we'll have a sticker you can use to cover the face to make sure you can't sneak a peek :) When the race starts your bib will record your exact starting time, and you’re free to run, jog, or walk the course. We’ll get your finish time, plug it into our fancy computers, and calculate the results. Remember, anyone can win, so results aren’t final until after the last person finishes!

We love the swag for the Summer Fun Prediction Run. Each registrant will receive the following:

• Triblend Race Shirt featuring the Summer Fun Prediction Run logo. It’s super-soft and will quickly become one of your favorites. Shirts are unisex sizing, available in Adult S-2XL
• Finisher medal
• Prepackaged post-race snacks
• Entry into our random giveaway for one of TWO Hypervolt GO percussion massagers valued at $199 each!

COURSE

The official distance of the course is 2.81 miles. The course is shown below and will be very well marked with one aid station that runners will hit twice.

AWARDS

The male and female participants with the closest actual time to their predicted time will win a Garmin GPS watch! 

Garmin 245 (Black) - $300 value

We’ll also give out awards to the closest male and female predictors in the following age groups: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+

Finally, the male and female participants with the WORST predictions will receive a special prize.

The fastest runner gets...nothing :)

BENEFICARY

Ari's Bears:
Ari's Bears was founded in 2018 by 10-year old Ariella Stein when she was in treatment for Ewing's Sarcoma, a bone cancer. She used her own money to make bears at Build-a-Bear and deliver to other sick children in the hospitals. Ariella died in May 2019 following a bone marrow transplant at age 11 but her legacy lives on through Ari's Bears. Ari’s Bears delivers brand new stuffed bears and other animals to children (and their siblings) fighting illness in hospitals and respite houses. To date we have hand delivered and mailed over 2500 bears. Our mission has expanded to include raising money to provide grants for childhood cancer research. So far we have awarded a $30,000 grant to Dr. Jeffrey Toretsky of The Georgetown Lombardy Comprehensive Cancer Center for his research on Ewing's Sarcoma, and a $30,000 grant to Dr. Charles Keller of The Children's Cancer Therapy Development Institute for his Rhabdomyosarcoma research. We also have awarded college scholarships to childhood cancer survivors and fighters who have given back to the community, just like Ariella did.  

REFUND, DEFERRAL, TRANSFER AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

As we continue the return to racing in 2022, we want to be completely transparent with our policies regarding refunds, deferrals, and cancellations. If you are interested in signing up for this race please read this section carefully prior to registering. All interested participants will be shown these policies during the registration process and must agree to adhere to them in order to be admitted to the event.

Refunds

Race registration fees (and the processing charge from RunSignup) are not refundable. These funds are used to pay for race premiums, permits, supplies, staffing, and other costs incurred before, during, and after the event is held. To be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy.

Deferrals

We offer the option for registrants to defer their entry to the following year's event based on Charm City Run's General Deferral fee schedule:

• Until July 16th, 2022 (2 weeks prior to race day) - $15.00
• July 17th - July 29th, 2022 (within 2 weeks of race day) - $30.00. 

Registrants may defer their entry by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race.

Transfers

We offer the option for registrants to transfer their entry to another eligible participant up to July 29th, 2022 . After this deadline passes we are unable to allow transfers as race materials have been prepped for the event. Again, to be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy. Registrants may transfer their entry to another registrant by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race.

Cancellations

2020 showed just how unpredictable our world can be, and the running industry was certainly no exception. We know that it's important to have as much information at your disposal when making a decision whether to sign up for a race or not, and we want you to know exactly what your options will be should the 2022 in-person race not be able to take place as originally planned. Our regular cancellation policy found here covers scenarios that could prompt the cancellation of an event including weather, local emergencies, public health emergencies, etc. If you have any questions about our cancellation policy please email us at events@charmcityrun.com PRIOR to registering.
