The race begins and ends in the bus lane at Mountain Ridge High School. The start of the race follows the road around the school and takes a left onto Washington Street. This section is flat. Runners will travel downhill by turning left on Green Street. At the bottom of the hill, racers will take a left into Frostburg Memorial Park for a challenging loop through the cemetery. The loop will bring runners back to Green Street where they will run uphill before taking a right onto McCulloh Street. Halfway down McCulloh, the race takes and uphill left on Cemetery Road back to Washington Street. Racers will take a right hand turn and head back towards the school. The race will head on a right hand turn at the school entrance road and head back to the stadium. Racers will take a lap around the track and exit through the stadium entrance gate headed towards the school. They will take a right and wrap around into the bus lane for the finish.
The course has a few hills, but they are long and challenging. The first mile is fast. The second mile is the toughest. The last mile only has a small uphill portion on Cemetery Road.
