Description
Please join the Myersville community to honor the memory of our beloved Deputy First Class Kenny Olander in a 5K "Run to Remember" event on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Deputy Olander was a 32-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office and proudly served the Myersville community until his passing in March 2022. All proceeds from the run will be donated to Kenny's wife and two young children.
Walkers, runners and families will gather at Harp Park and then walk/run throughout Myersville and the surrounding neighborhoods. There will be a timed 5K (course is pending USATF certification) as well as a family-friendly 1K "Fun Run/Walk". Strollers and wagons are welcome!
Join us back at Harp Place post-run/walk for complimentary snacks. Smitty's Smoked Meats and Eats food truck will on site at the finish line for those craving a post-run meal.
This event has been made possible through the support of Deputy Olander’s family, the Town of Myersville, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Myersville Elementary School, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Sunday, October 16:
11:00 AM: Day-of registration opens
12:30 PM: Start time for 1K Fun Run/Walk
12:50 PM: Pastor Chris Bishop will begin the event with a prayer & Maurlea Long will sing the National Anthem
1:00 PM: Start time for 5K Run
Registration Details
Online registration must be completed on RunSignUp.com by noon on Friday, October 14. Packet pickup will be on Friday, October 14 from 5 - 7 PM at the Myersville Town Hall (301 Main St, Myersville)
On-site registration will be available day-of starting at 11 AM.
1K Fun Run/Walk:
Early Bird (register by October 1): $15/person, 12 and under - $10, 3 and under- free, Family of four or more - $50
Registration after October 1: $20/person, 12 and under - $15, 3 and under- free, Family of four or more - $60
5K
Early Bird (register by October 1): $20/person, $50 for family of 4 or more
Registration after October 1: $25/person, $60 for family of 4 or more.
T-shirts are an additional fee ($10)

Parking
There will be limited parking available on-site at the start/finish line at Harp Park/Myersville Library. Please note, if you park at Harp Park, you will NOT be able to leave until the event is finished.
Parking will also be available just a short walk away at:
* Myersville Town Hall
* Myersville Elementary School (only accessible before 12:15 PM and after 2:30 PM)
* Mt. Zion United Methodist Church (only accessible before 12:15 PM and after 2:30 PM)
* St. Paul's Lutheran Church (only accessible before 12:15 PM and after 2:30 PM)
