Description
Please join us for our 6th year! We are a 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to raise mental health awareness, provide support and education to those in our community suffering from mental illness and/or addiction, and raise funds for families/individuals in crisis and/or local organizations who provide treatment. Once again, we have partnered with the City of Salisbury to bring the Mental Health Expo to Downtown Salisbury, and will have many of our community partners on hand to provide information and support to those in need.
TIMELINE OF EVENTS:
***Friday, May 08, 2020 -
5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Packet Pickup for PREREGISTERED participants - location TBD. Please note, we cannot accept any new registrations on this day, but registration will be available the morning of the race.
***Saturday, May 9, 2020 -
Parking: N. Division St. will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 6 a.m. FREE parking will be available in the City of Salisbury Parking Garage, or the parking lot across from the Library. Both are only one block away from the start/finish line.
All pre and post-race activities will take place in Downtown Salisbury in front of the Government Office Building, 125 N. Division Street
6:30 a.m. - Registration and packet pickup on the steps of the Government Office Building
7:30 a.m. - Registration and packet pickup will close. NO EXCEPTIONS!
7:40 a.m. - Opening Ceremony with guest speakers and final race instructions
8:00 a.m. - 5k race begins followed by 1-mile walkers and runners
8:45 a.m. - Community Conversation will take place with guest panelists to include mental health professionals
9:00 a.m. - Awards Ceremony - Awards will be given to the 1st place overall male and female in the 5k, and 1st through 3rd place male and female in age groups of 10-year increments.
- A few notes:
Pre-race coffee from Rise Up, bagels, bananas, and water will be provided - We are stroller and dog friendly
- There will be 1 water stop along the course; if you are concerned about not having enough water, feel free to carry water with you!
- Post-race party will include water, bagels, bananas, coffee, snacks, and door prizes
The Mental Health Expo will take place during the entirety of the event; we have many groups and organizations who will be on hand to provide information about the services they provide - We will have a box on display to place questions for our panelists in, as well as an opportunity for open dialogue during the Community Conversation

We are again partnering with TCR Event Management for our timing, and the 5k will be chip timed. Awards will be given to the 1st place overall male and female in the 5k, as well as top 3 in age groups of 10 year increments.

Registration will include a shirt, pre-race coffee from Rise Up, water and snacks, post-race celebration with water and other goodies, and awards ceremony!
Awards will be given to First Overall Male and Female, as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female in 10-year age group increments.
