Description
Laps for Lexi is a fun-filled morning, held on the last Saturday of September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month). Through Laps for Lexi we celebrate the life of Lexi Speight, an exuberant and hilariously funny eight-year old who died of liver cancer in 2010. This joyous event is full of what Lexi loved most in life - her family, friends, Care Bears, the color purple and most especially, laughing!
Laps for Lexi is a 5K fun run or a 1-mile walk. These events take place on cross-country courses. Well-behaved, child-friendly dogs are welcome!
Laps for Lexi raises money for both pediatric cancer research at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC and the Lexi Speight Scholarship Fund at Sandy Spring Friends School in Sandy Spring, MD.
To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, we ask that those eligible to be fully vaccinated.
If you are unable to join us in person, we hope you'll put on some purple and walk or run a 5K or 1-mile course of your choosing!
