Description
The Lake George/SSF Sprint Triathlon is a very unique point to point Sprint Triathlon with 1/4 mile swim, 14.5 mile bike ride and 3.8 mile out and back run. The entire community's involvement is what will make this a fun one to come back to and do year after year. Great T-Shirts, unique medals, prizes and a great post party afterward. Open to 15 years and older, this race can be done individually or as a team.
This will be a rare point to point race. The race begins at Lake George Regional Park on the Skowhegan/Canann line in Maine. The 1/4 mile swim begins at the East Shore and participants will swim around the island where spectators and fans will be able to see the entire swim! The bike transition is at the West Shore. The bike ride is a 14.5 mile flat country road with a few rolling hills and very wide "break down" lanes to travel in to Somerset Sports and Fitness in Skowhegan. The run is an out and back 3.8 mile run that travels down along the beautiful River Walk, ending with a challenging couple of hills to finish. The race is being officially timed and will have Police Escorts, EMS Services and plenty of volunteers all along the route.
