This race is in memory of Matthew Rairdon who's life was tragically taken in November 2013. When preparing to go to college, Matt was extremely appreciative to receive a scholarship to attend St. Joseph's college. The intent of this scholarship fund is to help other people who want to pursue a nursing education at St. Joseph's in the future. The first scholarship was awarded in the fall of 2014. Now we award 2 scholarships each year.
We are pleased to announce that we will have a in-person run. We are also offering a virtual run option. Because of the pandemic and the lifting of the state of emergency we have some rules of the road that are different:
This year we are doing something a little different with our charitable giving. In addition to our scholarship giving, we will raise funds to make a donation to the Westbrook Regional Vocational Center, Medical Occupations Department. They have requested 2 training manikins.
