Horsing Around in the Dog Days of Summer 5k/10k

Date:   Saturday, June 21 @ 10:00 am

Location:  Horse Arena at the Tuscola County Fairgrounds, 188 Park Drive, Caro. (Use Pizza Hut in your GPS)

Packet Pick Up: Friday, June 20th from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Horse Arena Pavilion and Saturday, June 21st from 8:00-9:30 am

            Follow the signs as you enter the fairgrounds

Event Cost:  $30.00 (plus processing fee) with tshirt. No guarantee on receiving a tshirt for entries made after Saturday, June 14th.

   $35.00 day of event (plus processing fee if using credit card). No tshirt

The 5k course will start at the Horse Arena, run through the fairground’s midway, midfield of the grand arena, and end back at the horse arena.  For 10k participants, the course will be the same; however, you will run the course twice.

5k walkers will start a couple minutes after the 5k/10k runners, and are advised to stay to the right side of the course so as not to block runners.

For those entering in the 5k walk- bring your pup in their best costume.  The top 3 costumes will receive a trophy.  All pups will receive a vanilla ice cream & whip cream pup cup at the finish line.

Awards will be given for: Overall male and female in each 5k walk, 5k run, and 10k run. 

                                        Overall youth (12 and younger) male and female in the 5k run.

                                        Top 3 male and female in the 5k walk, 5k run, and 10k run

                                        Top 3 youth (12 and younger) male and female in the 5k run.

                                        Top 3 best dressed pup costumes.

All finishers will receive a 2 ½ medal with lanyard.

Proceeds benefit local youth in the equine program by providing educational opportunities.  A donation will also be made to Cass River Pet Friendz to aid in their fight against stray animal overpopulation.

Results will be posted at the conclusion of the race. Winners will be announced and presented their award.
