Tails & Trails 5K

Join us for our second annual Tails & Trails 5K! The event, which will take place at Independence Oaks, OCP’s largest park, and will raise money for the non-profit  Do Only Good Animal Rescue which helps to supports dogs at the Oakland County Animal Shelter. 

The race is open to both walkers and runners. Dogs or cats are welcome to race with their owner as long as they have a current license and are kept on a 6 foot leash. Please keep control of your dog at all times.

Donations can be made to Do Only Good Animal Rescue, a foster-based local nonprofit, facilitates the adoption of dogs at the Oakland County Animal Shelter. They provide shelter and care for over 4,000 animals each year and work hard to either reunite them with their owners or to find new, loving homes. Please consider donating to them via this website or on race day in the form of animal food, treats and toys.

The Tails and Trails 5K is open to participants of all ages and will kick off with a Cat Walk 1K (dogs and cats are welcome in both races). The 5K race begins a half hour later and will take runners along Independence Oaks’ beautiful trails. A family fun zone and other activities for participants to enjoy will be on site for the duration of the race along with local animal businesses such as markets, groomers and more!
