G.L.I.D.E. 4 Change 5k - Converted to Virtual

THANK YOU to all of our race registrants for the G.L.I.D.E. 4 Change 5k! We appreciate your support of G.L.I.D.E's mission to bring awareness to and help end homelessness for individuals aging out of foster care.

Unfortunately, due to a positive COVID case on the G.L.I.D.E management team, and with the safety of all race participants as top priority, we regretfully are unable to host the in-person portion of our 5k this year.

All racers who purchased in-person registrations will be given the option to convert their registrations to our Virtual 5k, to receive a refund, or to choose to donate your registration fee and forgo racing virtually. Whichever choice you make, we appreciate you and hope you'll consider joining us next year as well.

If you choose to race with us virtually, your race swag will be mailed directly to you.

If you have any questions, please contact G.L.I.D.E.'s Board Secretary laurie.morse-dell@glidehome.org.

Here Are Your Options:

Virtual races happen all the time, and allow you to join the fun without the crowds. You simply run the distance on your own, and report your results - we’ll send you instructions.

You understand that events are expensive, even when cancelled, and you want us to keep your registration fees to help cover our costs. We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at an event soon.

We understand. We hope you can join us next time.

Description

Every year more than 23,000 youth exit the foster care system on their 18th birthday. When this happens, much of the supports they've had are immediately removed resulting in 15%-20% of these youth becoming homeless immediately! Up to 36% will experience homelessness by 21 years of age. G.L.I.D.E. assists these youth with stable housing, employment readiness training, and life skills training. At G.L.I.D.E. we believe in empowering youth to become the best version of themselves that they can. By providing these services we are removing homeless individuals from the street, ensuring they have access to mental and physical healthcare, and ensuring they have access to all of the same resources as non-fostered youth. When you join this run, you are supporting this cause!
