Description
The Grand Ledge Education Foundation Comet Chase 5k will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 in Grand Ledge, Michigan. The 5k race begins at 8:45 AM from the Grand Ledge High School Track & field facility and travels through town before returning to the track. A 1 mile run for youth 13 & under starts at 8:00 AM and the 400m Kids Race precedes the 5K at 8:15 AM. All proceeds go to benefit the Grand Ledge Education Foundation a 501(c)3 organization that works to provide extra funding for special projects within the Grand Ledge Public Schools classrooms.
Pricing: 5k in person and virtual 5k - $45 until 6/12 then $55. 1 mile kids race and 400 yd dash kids race - $20 until 6/12 then $25.
Groupings: 10 and under, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,
35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
Awards & Prizes:
Post race refreshments for all registrants and chance at race day door prizes
5k run/walk: Medals awarded to the male and female winners in each division. All participants receive a finisher medal. 5k participants receive a technical t-shirt which is guaranteed to all entries received prior to June 12th. T-shirts available as supplies last after that date.
Virtual 5k run/walk: All participants receive a finisher medal. Virtual 5k participants receive a technical t-shirt which is guaranteed to all entries received prior to June 12th. T-shirts available as supplies last after that date. Shirts and medals will be mailed to participants beginning week of June 24th.
400m kids race (10 and under): All participants will receive a Comet Squeeze Ball.Youth races receive a cotton blend t-shirt with entries by June 12th. T-shirts available as supplies last after that date
1 Mile youth race (13 and under): Medals awarded to top 10 finishers. All participants will receive a Comet Squeeze Ball. Youth races receive a cotton blend t-shirt with entries by June 12th. T-shirts available as supplies last after that date
Packet Pickup: Friday, June 21 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM and morning of the race starting at 7:00 AM. Pickup takes place at At the Grand Ledge High School Track & Field Facility 1211 Lohne Dr. Grand Ledge, MI 48837 Google Maps

The race will be timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be posted during the race and live on this website.

Participants in the 5k events will receive a tech T-shirt featuring the race logo
Participants in the "youth" and "kid" events will receive a cotton blend t-shirt featuring the race logo
5K Finisher Medals
5K and Virtual 5K participants will receive a 2.0 inch enamel medal featuring "Winky" the GLPS mascot!
5K Age Group Awards
The top male and female 5K runners in each division of the "in person" event will receive a receive a 3.0 inch enamel medal featuring "Winky" the GLPS mascot!
1 Mile Youth Race Awards
The top 10 finishers in the 1 Mile Youth Race will receive a 1.5 inch enamel medal featuring "Winky" the GLPS mascot!
Youth and Kid Event Giveaway
All participants in the "youth" and "kid" events will receive a 3 inch squeeze ball in the shape of Winky the Comet!
Event Parking
Parking at the track will be limited for event workers. Please refer to the map for available parking. Please note there will be no access to campus via M-43/Lohne Drive on June 22.
