Start Time: 9 am on Thanksgiving Morning
Open/flexible start line! Start the 5K run/walk any time between 9:00 and 9:15am. Those looking to race for a competitive time, line up to start at 8:55am. After the competitive start, keep an eye on the start line and begin your run/walk when you feel comfortable. The starting line area is wide, and the space is open to allow for social distancing. You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line. Start your race when you are ready. Timing does not start until you cross the timing mats!
Parking: The Lansing Community College parking ramp is closed and not available for parking this year. Parking is free on city streets. Click this link for a map of additional parking close to the start of the race. There are two city parking ramps close to the race, the North Grand Ramp and the North Capitol Ramp. Rates for the city ramps are $1.25 per 30 minutes.
Entry Fee: $25 until November 16th Guaranteed Shirt. $30 from November 17th to November 23th (Limited Shirts)
Family Discount: Register 3 or more people at the same time and save $5/person. Valid only until November 16th, valid only for the in-person event.
Be sure to preregister. There is no race day registration.
Packet pick up: At Playmakers, Tuesday 11/22 and Wednesday 11/23 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm (both days). The Playmakers store is located at 2299 West Grand River Ave. Okemos, MI 48864. You are able to pick up packets for family and friends on their behalf. Race day packet pickup will begin at 7:30 am at Lansing Community College in the Gannon building, first floor. Masks are required inside the Gannon building at LCC.
Results: Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site.
Age Group Awards: Medals to top 3 in age groups: 10 & under, 11-12 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
Overall Awards: Medal and $25 Playmakers gift certificate to Male and Female: Overall, Master (Over 40), Grand Master (Over 50), and Senior (Over 60)
Awards will be available race day at the awards table starting at 9:45 am. The awards table will be outside located near the refreshments.
Proceeds from the race go to support High School and Middle School Cross Country and Track programs, and Youth Running Clubs through the Michigan Running Foundation grant program.
Virtual Lansing Turkey Trot: If you can't make the race and still want to participate sign up for the virtual race and we will mail out a shirt and bib to you! Run your virtual race any time from November 21 to November 27. Cost is $30 and includes shipping. There are no awards for the virtual event. Registration for the virtual event closes on November 19th.
