Description
RUN, HIKE, RIDE OR PADDLE. - EVERY MILE COUNTS.
Michigan is home to more than 13,000 miles of diverse, state-designated trails, plus thousands of miles of local, county and federally managed trails and pathways.
During Michigan Trails Week (Sept. 19-26, 2021), Michiganders are coming together to collectively travel 100,000 miles on nonmotorized and motorized trails across the state.
The Michigan Trails Week Challenge is open to trail veterans and newcomers alike. All you have to do is log your miles spent on any local, county, state or federally managed trail. You can record all your miles at once or log individual treks – whatever’s easier for you. For each badge you earn, you will be entered in a drawing for cool outdoor gear and Michigan branded prizes!
Every mile counts! Earn a badge when you register for the challenge and at least 1 mile, and then every time you:
Bike for 10 miles.
Horseback ride for 5 miles.
Paddle for 2 miles
Ride (ORV, ATV or motorcycle) for 15 miles.
Walk, run or hike for 5 miles.
There is no limit to the number of badges you can earn. The more mileage you log, the more badges you earn, and that boosts your chances to win and helps us reach our 100,000-mile goal.
Check with local outdoor recreation resource agencies to see what types of trails and accessible accommodations are near you.
Beginning Sept. 19, you can start reporting your mileage by signing into Runsignup and clicking on the "results" tab. Don’t worry – we'll send you a reminder email.
