Description
The Mighty Mile is for kids only ages 6 to 14 years old.
T-Shirt - Backpack - Medal: All preregistered runners will receive a lightweight Tech T-Shirt and a drawstring backpack. Once the runner crosses the finish line they will receive a Mighty Mile finisher medal.
SCHEDULE
Race 1: 7:00pm | 6 – 7 year olds
Race 2: 7:15pm | 8 – 9 year olds
Race 3: 7:30pm | 10 – 11 year olds
Race 4: 7:45pm | 12 – 14 year olds
RESULTS: This race will be electronically timed using the disposable tag system on the bib number. Results will be available immediately after the race and will be posted on this web site and Playmakers.com.
AWARDS: There are no awards for the race. The purpose of the program is for the runner to challenge themself to improve their time and start a healthy lifestyle. All of the runners will receive a Mighty Mile medal when they cross the finish line!
RACE START: All races will have a 5 minute starting period. The runners can stay spread out and start the race anytime in this 5 minute period.
COURSE INFORMATION: We will have members of the Lansing Eastern Cross Country team along the entire course to offer encouragement and support. Feel free to run with your child.
ENTRY FEE: The entry fee is $10. Registration for the race must be done online on this site prior to the race. There will be no registration available at the race.
Race is limited to the first 200 participants.
FREE ENTRY: If you are unable to afford the entry fee please email chuck@runningfoundation.com for a coupon to use for free entry. We want every child to have the opportunity to do this program if they want to!
PACKET PICK UP: Tuesday July 20th at Playmakers ( 2299 West Grand River Ave. Okemos) from 4 pm to 7 pm. Race day at Granger Meadow Park starting at 6 pm.
The race is hosted by the MICHIGAN RUNNING FOUNDATION a non profit whose mission is to encourage youth running.
T-Shirt - Runners can pick pink or blue!

FAQ
Does my child have to be at the start line right at the starting time for their age group? No. We have a 5 minute starting period. There will be no mass start and everyone will be able to stay spread out if they wish to. There will be no loud gun at the start. It will be very low key. There is no pressure to start as a group and try to finish ahead of another runner. The goal is to challenge your self to run your best race.
Is this a chipped timed accurate mile? Yes. The race is chipped timed. The runner's time does not start until they cross the starting mats. The mile course is wheeled and exactly 1 mile. Results will be live on this site.
Will we be able to see our child run? Yes. The course is a big loop and it is easy to go to the 1/2 mile point and see them and be able to get back to see them at the finish.
Can we run with our child? Yes feel free to run with your child for support if you think they need it.
Do girls and boys run together? Yes. There is one race per age group that includes both girls and boys.
If my child is 5 but turns 6 during 2021 can they still do the race? Yes.
If my child turns 15 during 2021 can they still do the race? Yes
Please note for the safety of all participants dogs are not allowed on the course.
