Local Charity Partner
Each year, race proceeds benefit one local Charity in the Greater Lansing Area.
Our charity partner this year is Lansing SAVE!
Lansing SAVE is a post-secondary education savings program for the Lansing School District. In the fall semester, all incoming kindergarten students are automatically enrolled in an account at the Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU).
Parents, guardians, and students can contribute throughout elementary, middle, and high school at any MSUFCU branch or during monthly financial education lessons, provided by MSUFCU. Students may use their Lansing SAVE accounts after high school graduation for any post-secondary education, such as a training program for the skilled trades or college. Lansing SAVE complements the Lansing HOPE and the Lansing Promise scholarship programs to prepare our students for post-secondary education opportunities.
Here's a video on Lansing SAVE: https://youtu.be/b-odKJlcvaw
10% of sculpture sales from the ScrapFest silent auction, along with proceeds from registrations for the Great Scrap Run, will go to Lansing SAVE.
Overall Awards
Overall and Masters awards for both men and women will be made from scrap metal from Friedland Industries' scrap processing facility. Artist Bob Welton (Iron on the Move) made them and they came out great!
