Description
The Golden Grizzlies 5k/10k Run is an event for all ages and abilities! Join us as we run a scenic loop through Oakland University's campus and finish with a lap on the Elaine Leigh track facility! We will be holding a 5k run/walk and a 10k run with medals and t-shirts for all participants. Proceeds from the race will go to benefit the Oakland University Cross Country and Track and Field programs.
STARTING TIMES:
9:10 am - Kids Run/Walk (meant for ages 10 and under)
9:30 am - 5K run/walk and 10K Run
PACKET PICKUP: Packet Pickup on race morning only. Packet pickup open from 7:30-9:00 at race site.
AWARDS: Each finisher of the 5k and 10k will receive a race t-shirt and a medal. Overall male and female finishers and masters winners will receive awards. Kids run participants will receive a ribbon for finishing one lap of the OU track! Kids race will start and finish inside the OU track facility.
POST RUN FESTIVITIES:
Please stick around after your run or walk and visit our sponsor tents and enjoy some music. We will also have a coffee truck on site for that extra energy boost!
SPECIAL ALUMNI BIB:
Just like in 2024, the first 200 alumni to sign up will receive a special gold race bib!

Frequently Asked Questions
What time is the kids run?
The kids run begins at 9:10 am. It will be split into two age groups, Ages 6 and below and ages 7 and above. Kids will receive a kid's medal or ribbon at the finish.The kids run is intended for ages 10 and under.
Can I register the morning of the race?
Absolutely! Race Registration closes at 9:00 am on Sunday morning.
Where is packet pick up?
Packet pick up will only be on race day morning between 7:30-9:00 am at the Oakland University Elaine Leigh Track and Field Complex.
Can we run with strollers?
You can! The course is a bit hilly and you can push a stroller at your own peril!
Can we run with dogs?
You are not allowed to have dogs inside the Track and Field Complex, where our finish line will be.
Where do I park on campus?
On our front page there is a map of campus parking options for the morning of the race. The lot closest to the track fills up quickly so make sure you get here early enough!
Will there be coffee?
Yes! Bearclaw Coffee Co. will be on site along with Biggby Coffee to provide you with much needed energy.
