Description
Michigan Men's Health Foundation's annual Run for the Ribbon 5K takes place Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15, 2025 at 8 a.m. at the Detroit Zoo to support prostate cancer survivors and those who love them. Participants can participate in the 5K run/walk loop or a 1 Mile Stroll inside the zoo. All participants will receive a race shirt, medal, and complimentary entry to the Detroit Zoo, with snacks, water, and Guernsey chocolate milk provided at the finish line. What a great way to spend Father's Day!
Our Doze for Dads option is a way to support the men in your life without the cardio! Please only select this option if you are NOT planning to attend the event in person. If you register for Doze for Dads you will not be permitted to participate on race day without registering for the in-person events.
Registrants are encouraged bring a team and build a personal fundraising page asking friends and family members to donate when they sign up for the event. Registrants can upload photos, a personal story and set up team or personal fundraising goals. Each secure team page or personal page will have its own custom URL.
Prostate cancer survivors, please be sure to stop by the Michigan Men's Health Foundation tent for your survivor gift!
*Please note that according to Zoo regulations, dogs are not allowed at this race*

Race Activities
This year's race will be better than ever with new activities and ways to celebrate the prostate cancer hero in your life!
Dedicate a free "In Celebration of" sign that will be placed along the route - New this year, you can take your sign home with you! We encourage participants to take pictures with your signs then bring the with you to the finish line, so your loved one can celebrate your achievement with you! Thank you to ClevelandDx for providing this year's celebration signs!
Honor and Remember Your Men's Health Hero Wall - Participants can write their loved ones names on ribbons and pin them to the wall for all to see!
"In Celebration of" back bibs and beads - Write your loved ones name on a bib and pin it to your back so everyone can see who you are running/walking for! We also have colored beads corresponding to your loved one's fight with prostate cancer.
Too competitive to stop and carry your sign? We have awards for race winners including overall male and female as well as male and female age group awards. Top fundraisers will be awarded, and we will have a special prize for the most recent father!
Additionally, we will have large yard games on hand for a little friendly competition before and after the race.
Age Based Discounts
We ask that all participants are registered, including stroller entries, but offer age based discounts for both the run and the stroll. Age based discounts are available for children 0-2 and 3-13.
While children under 2 receive free entry to the zoo regardless, stroller entries still receive a t-shirt, medal, and zoo entry with their race bib.
