RunTough for Team Tommy 2020 (VIRTUAL)

Tommy Ruddy was a 5 year old giggling, kind, and genuine baseball and soccer loving kiddo from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He loved sports, dancing, Penn State, and the Philadelphia Eagles! He was obsessed with everything yellow, his family and friends, electronics and being goofy. Those who love him say he had gifts of genuine kindness.

On August 12, 2016, Tommy Ruddy was diagnosed with DIPG, a devastating pediatric brain cancer with no known cure. He began his cancer journey at CHOP in Philadelphia then underwent radiation therapy at Helen Devos Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Unfortunately Tommy’s tumor advanced rapidly, and he gained his angel wings less than 3 months later on November 3, 2016. He fought so bravely and so hard. He is now at peace with Jesus.

Join Team Tommy in a VIRTUAL RUN to support The ChadTough Foundation! You can run whenever, wherever, however you want ... or not at all (we won't tell)! 

Register by September 4 to guarantee a shirt. (PLEASE NOTE: For this year, the Team Tommy race shirt will be the same as the RunTough for ChadTough shirt.) For registrations received by September 4, we will make every attempt to get your packet to you before the official event day of Sept 26, but it cannot be guaranteed.

All proceeds will go to The ChadTough Foundation, whose mission is to inspire and fund game-changing research to discover effective treatments for pediatric brain cancer, with an emphasis on Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

• Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related death in children.
• DIPG is responsible for 15% of ALL pediatric cancer deaths each year.
• ONLY roughly 4% of the taxpayer-funded National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) annual budget is directed toward pediatric cancer (not brain cancer but ALL pediatric cancer).
