Yooper Running Company will be hosting the inaugural Pullar Bear 5K run/walk on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, at 9am. The race will start/finish near the Pullar Stadium Ice Arena in downtown Sault Sainte Marie. The address is 435 E Portage Avenue. Packet pickup will be from 7:30am-8:30am either inside Pullar or near the Start/Finish area dependent on weather. Indoor rest rooms will be available inside Pullar Stadium. We will also have hot chocolate to stay warm!

Early Packet Pickup: An early packet pickup will take place from 4-7pm on Friday, November 22nd at a local downtown establishment. Location TBA. Will update closer to race week!
Proceeds: A percentage of proceeds will benefit Diane Peppler Resource Center. The Diane Peppler Resource Center provides emergency shelter, crisis hotline, legal advocacy, and other services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Michigan. 100% of donations in excess of registration will also be given to DPRC!
Volunteers: If you would like to volunteer at packet pickup on race day, help with course setup, or an aid station please contact yooperrunning@gmail.com. Volunteers will be given a free race entry at the current or a future Yooper Running Company hosted event.
Course: The course will follow Portage Avenue East with River Views and many historical Sault Sainte Marie Landmarks along the route. The turnaround will be a lollipop loop inside the public boat launch area just West of Aune -Osborn Campground. Runners and walkers can use the bike lane which will be lined with cones along the course or the sidewalk.
Awards + Mugs: Custom Mugs designed by Oaklawn Laser Works will be given to all participants who finish. Overall awards will be given to the overall gender winners, master winners (40-59), and grand master (60+) winners. Age group awards will be given to 1st place in each age group. Age groups consist of 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. Refreshments and snacks will be given to all participants.
Weather: Weather during this time of the year will likely be within the historical average high of 42 degrees and low of 29 degrees. Being a morning race, prepare for temps in the high 20s, lower to mid 30s for the race with a chance of snow!
