The Lake Michigan Ride - Individual
The Lake Michigan Ride - Relay
Description
Have you ever wanted to ride your bike all the way around Lake Michigan? Yeah, we know most of you probably never even thought of it. But that's ok, because now you actually have a reason to think about it (you've been stuck inside the house for the last few months), and a chance to do it! Without ever leaving your house or neighborhood.
The Lake Michigan Ride is a virtual bike race around Lake Michigan.
The course starts and finishes in Traverse City, and cyclists will head north to begin a counter-clockwise loop around Lake Michigan. Racers will cross the Mackinac Bridge and pass throuh Escanaba, Green Bay, Milwaukee, and Chicago before hitting the mitten state again and mirroring the Lake Michigan shore back up to Traverse City to finish the 1,107 mile trip.
The individual race starts on June 15 and racers have 111 days, until October 4, to make it all the way around.
The 2-person relay starts on July 1 and cyclists have 95 days, until October 4, to get to the finish line.
Cyclists will enter their own mileage and riding times here on the race website. As racers enter their results, the leaderboard and overall standings will be updated live here on the website. We're also exploring the possibility of an live webcast to reacp the results/standings every few weeks.
All cyclists will receive a printable race number, custom printed neck gaiter/buff, and finishers will receive a finisher's medal upon completion. All items will be shipped.
