SMBSC Running to a Sweet Beet 5K

Join us in our efforts to beat cancer! 

Held in conjunction with Renville Sugar Beet Days, this event incorporates a morning centered on hope, health, and stewardship.  Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative is the sole sponsor, underwriting the cost of the run/walk to ensure that 100% of registrations fees are donated to support the fight against cancer.  Since inception in 2010, the event has raised and donated $86,557!  All registration proceeds benefit Renville County Walk in the Park.  

Running to a Sweet Beet 5K welcomes participants of all ages and abilities and will take place rain or shine.  The 5K course is chip-timed, offering a fun and meaningful experience for both competitive runners and casual walkers alike.

Schedule of Events

• 6:45 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. Registration
• 7:45 a.m. Opening Ceremony
• 8:00 a.m. Race Start
• Immediately following the race - Closing Ceremony and Prizes

Registration & Pricing

Participants who register on or before June 1 are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt and early bird pricing.  After June 1, registration fees increase as follows:  Age 4 and Under: Free | Age 5-10: $20 | Age 11-18: $25 | Age 19+: $35

Please note: No team pricing option will be offered in 2026.  Race shirts are not guaranteed for registrations received after June 1. 

Registration Deadlines

Online registration closes at midnight on June 2.  After that time, race-day registration will be available beginning at 6:45 a.m. at the Renville Community Center.  Payment on race day is cash or check only.
