Description

The Martin City Beer Mile will be on August 14 at 6:00pm starting at the KC Running Company store at 200 E 135th Street.  Participants will drink a 12 oz can of beer, run a 1/4 mile, and repeat that three more times, consuming a total of four beers and running a total of one mile. We will run the race in several heats based on projected times that you provide when you register.  Registration is $22. Not up to four beers and four laps? Create a two person team and recruit a friend to join you. Each of you will drink two beers and run two laps and will compete against other two person teams for the team title. Each two person team registration is $20.  Don't like beer but want to be part of the fun?  Sign up to run in the exhibition race and bring your own beverage!  Your time won't count towards the overall prize but you will be timed, you will get a race shirt and it only costs $12!

All registrants get a Martin City Beer Mile shirt, unless you select No Shirt when you register, saving $4. Awards will be given to the fastest male and fastest female finishers and the fastest two person team. We will have plenty of pizza for participants to enjoy after they run!

There will be five or six heats of participants, with the participants with the slowest projected times going first and the participants with the fastest projected times going last, with each heat starting every 15-20 minutes. The first heat will start at 6:00pm. The two person teams will compete in one heat towards the end of the event.
