The Martin City Beer Mile will be on August 13 at 6:30pm starting at the KC Running Company store at 200 E 135th Street. Participants will drink a 12 oz can of beer, run a 1/4 mile, and repeat that three more times, consuming a total of four beers and running a total of one mile. We will run the race in several heats based on projected times that you provide when you register. Registration is $22. All registrants get a Martin City Beer Mile shirt, unless you select No Shirt when you register, saving $4. Awards will be given to the fastest male and fastest female finishers. We will set up the transition zones to maximize social distancing and will ask everyone to wear masks before and after their wave.
There will be five or six waves of participants, with the participants with the slowest projected times going first and the participants with the fastest projected times going last, with each wave starting every 15-20 minutes. The first wave will start at 6:30pm. Registration will be capped at 100 participants.
We will not be running a Beer Mile Relay this year in an effort to minimize the size of the crowd and the event and facilitate social distancing.
