Proceeds from Outpace Poverty 2021 benefit the programs and services provided by Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph.

Pre-registration for Outpace Poverty is now closed. Race day registration will open on Saturday, September 18th at 7 am at Theis Park! We hope to see you there.
If you would like to register for Outpace Poverty but will be out of town or can't make it for another reason, you can absolutely still register and receive a t-shirt, finisher medal, and goody bag! All you need to do it register as you would (if you were attending in person) and then email BHilst@ccharities.com. Unfortunately, you won't be timed in real time but you can still receive all the goodies and support a great local charity.
Packet Pick-Up: Catholic Charities will host packet pick up for team captains only on Thursday 9/16/21. Email BHilst@ccharities.com for details. Packet pickup for all participants and teams will take place on Friday 9/17/21 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at 4001 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Ste. 250, KCMO 64130.
Parking on Race Day:
Parking is available at the Kauffman Memorial Gardens and along Oak Street on the west side of Theis Park. Event parking is not allowed (per KCMO Parks and Rec) on East 47th Terrace or Pierce Street
Race Day Info:
- Strollers and dogs on leashes are welcome
- The race will begin at 8:00 AM
- Catholic Charities will start the race in a staggered start fashion. Those who are serious runners will go first, we ask strollers and four-legged companions to wait until the end and those who are walking to start in the last few groups.
- There will be prizes for overall male and female finishers in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions
- We will have a detailed plan to keep all participants, volunteers, spectators and staff safe from covid-19
- Due to covid-19 mitigation strategies, the program after the run will be very limited. There will be pre-packaged food and water for runners but unfortunately, there will be limited additional entertainment.
