Description
We’re back! Join us for the Second Annual Groundhog Splash as we splash our way into the frigid water of the West Pond at Veterans Memorial Park in Union, MO. The event is held to help raise money for the Union R-XI Foundation which provides student scholarships, teacher grants, and more for Union R-XI School District. All participants will receive a long sleeve shirt. Participants are also encouraged to collect donations above the entry fee amount for additional exclusive Splash Swag!
Note: Registrations submitted after 1/17/22 are not guaranteed a shirt on day of the event, but will receive a shirt at a later date.
We will begin splashing our way into the icy water at approximately 10:00am. The number of participants will determine how long the "splashing" goes and how long safety personnel will be present. Once we start entering the water it goes pretty quick. Be sure to arrive early and be ready to go at 10:00am. Please do not arrive late and expect to still get in the water if the safety crew has already left.
Weather in Missouri can be unpredictable, but one thing is for sure and that’s the water will still be freezing. So make a splash and then warm up with some hot chocolate or coffee. Heaters will also be setup around the area.
TEAM FUNDRAISING
Prizes will be awarded for the team that raises the most money and for the largest team. Challenge another team, another class, another company, etc and see who raises the most money. For every $100 you raise above your registration fee you will receive a hoodie for yourself or 1 for your team. Don’t want to fundraise, but still want to jump? That’s cool…fundraising is not required.
