Mississipi Delta - March of the Mayors

Extra Table is excited to announce the March of the Mayors is coming to the Mississippi Delta for the first time in 2024, with special thanks to our regional sponsor, Verizon!

What is the MARCH OF THE MAYORS? It's a statewide canned food drive driven by the mayors of cities across Mississippi to collect food items to support their local pantries. Extra Table is harnessing a bit of that Mardi Gras spirit for the greater good. Our mission is to feed our food-insecure neighbors through a partnership of Mayors, hence the ‘March of the Mayors.’

Mississippi Delta: Collect a city-specific item during the month of February.

• Cleveland (Peanut butter)
• Drew (Canned green beans)
• Greenville (Canned corn)
• Greenwood (Canned fruit)
• Indianola (Spaghetti Noodles)

PACKING PARTY - Monday, March 4th at 9 a.m. at the Cleveland Fire Station located at 209 South St, Cleveland, MS 38732.
 
The March of the Mayors is a 4-week-long event driven by donations of specific food items that will benefit Extra Table’s partner food pantries. Each participating city collects one specific food item that will be dropped off at different select locations. Food collection lasts four weeks with a final box-packing party where LOTS of volunteers are needed. ALL FOOD collected in the MS Delta will stay in the MS Delta!
