Northeast Mississippi - March of the Mayors

Extra Table is excited to announce the March of the Mayors is coming to the North Mississippi for the first time in 2024, with special thanks to our regional sponsor, Atmos!

What is the MARCH OF THE MAYORS? It's a statewide canned food drive driven by the mayors of cities across Mississippi to collect food items to support their local pantries. Extra Table is harnessing a bit of that Mardi Gras spirit for the greater good. Our mission is to feed our food-insecure neighbors through a partnership of Mayors, hence the ‘March of the Mayors.’

North Mississippi: Collect a city-specific item during the month of February.

• Baldwyn - Canned Fruit
• Caledonia - One lb. bag of rice
• Columbus - Canned soup
• Oxford - Canned Green Beans
• Starkville - Peanut Butter
• Tupelo - Canned Tuna
• West Point  - One lb. bag of dried beans

The March of the Mayors is a 4-week-long event driven by donations of specific food items that will benefit Extra Table’s partner food pantries. Each participating city collects one specific food item that will be dropped off at different select locations. Food collection lasts four weeks with a final box-packing party where LOTS of volunteers are needed. ALL FOOD collected in each region stays local!
