Description
In the U.S., we lose 17 veterans to suicide every day. To raise awareness and honor the lives lost, MSU Veteran Services, MSU Bobcat Athletics, and the Help Center are hosting 17 to Zero: Communities Engaging to End Veteran Suicide. The goal of this event is to continue decreasing rates of veteran suicide by informing and empowering those in the community to reduce stigma, help veterans access mental health services, and keep the conversation about veteran mental health and well-being at the forefront.
How to participate:
- Move your body and/or mind in the name of veteran mental health on Saturday, April 17th. Walk, hike, bike, meditate, read, you choose how to be active that day. Participate from ANYWHERE! Participate on your own or form a team and share your experience! If you can't on the 17th, choose another time! REGISTRATION IS FREE. You can choose to purchase a swag bag during registration.
- Fundraise for veteran and community mental health. Do you know 3 people that can give $17? Join us as an individual or team as a 17 to ZERO HERO. Funds raised support MSU student veteran mental health and the Help Center's 24-Hour crisis and suicide prevention services. We have some great prizes and will give you all the tools you need!
Participate in the event, fundraise, or do both!
