Description
Join us for the first, and maybe last, Big River Run! The course is out and back along our beautiful Flathead River. It’s October in Montana, so don’t expect perfect course conditions (depending upon your definition of perfect conditions) - it may be sunny, cloudy, a blizzard, muddy or all of the above. Whatever the condition, this is going to be an Epic run!
This is a cup free event, please bring your own hydration device.
The race will take place on Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal lands. The CSKT Tribal Council approved a group use permit for the event. Thanks to the generosity of the Tribal Council, individual non-member conservation permits are not required for this race, as they normally would be in this location.
Directions to the River Honoring Site (the absolutely gorgeous start and finish line of the Big River Run):
From the North:
Turn off Highway 93 at Ronan, West on Round Butte Road.
Turn South on Moiese Valley Road. When you drop down to the banks of the river, you’re getting closer!
Please drive slow- there may be people in the roadway.
Keep driving until you see our signs and setup on the right.
If you climb a big hill toward Moiese Valley, you’ve gone too far. That hill is meant for running.

From the South:
Turn off Highway 93 at Ravalli, West onto Highway 200.
Turn North onto Hwy 212.
Turn West onto Moiese Valley Road (under the train trestle just past the Bison Range entrance)
Continue on Moiese Valley Road through the valley until you drop down to the banks of the Flathead
River. You’ll see our signs and setup on the left. You can’t miss it. Please slow down when you take a
sharp left to stay on Moiese Valley Road near Kuntz Lane. You are very close, there are blind corners and
there will be people in the roadway!
