The Holiday Stretch From Halloween to New Years
The holiday celebration season starts with the Sugar Filled Candy on Halloween, has pit stops on Thanksgiving with turkey, mashed potatoes and pie, continues through the Christmas Gatherings full of baked goods and delicious treats and concludes when we say hello to 2021 with New Year's Eve parties and bowl games on the first day of the year.
Yes, the calorie filled stretch with definitely stretch your waist line if you are not careful. Here's a challenge to help you with the exercise over the holidays. As the holidays approach, Dr. Connie at Locust Health Center will give regular food tips to help with healthier eating as 2021 approaches.
For .50 cents a day, you can be part of this challenge to keep your waistline trim over the 10-week period. Plus, you get some cool swag.
70-Day Vac & Dash Werkin' It Through the Holiday Challenge Details
Here's your challenge to keep you moving over the Holidays. Workout at least 5 of 7 days of the week, with a combination of aerobic activity, push-ups, planks and sit-ups/crunches.
You can split up your workouts throughout the day, modify your pushups, etc. as needed. We have set a minimum workout plan. You are more than welcome to do more, based on your abilities and fitness level.
The aerobic part is based on time, rather than a specific running/walking/cycling distance. Aerobic activities include, running, walking, cycling, swimming, jazzercise, zumba, aerobics class, treadmill, elliptical, exercise bike, hiking, XPT classes, rowing machine, etc. It's very flexible. You can do your aerobic activities indoors, outdoors, at the gym, or in front of your TV. You can even put in your Leslie Sansone (and walk and walk and walk) DVD and Walk It while you are Werkin' It.
October - November
Do a minimum of 20:00 minutes a day of aerobic activity. Do a minimum of 20 pushups, 20 situps/crunches and 2:00 minutes of planks. Workout at least 5 of the 7 days each week.
December
Do a minimum of 30:00 minutes a day of aerobic activity. Do a minimum of 30 pushups, 30 situps/crunches and 3:00 minutes of planks. Workout at least 5 of the 7 days each week.
