Dear Girls on the Run 5K Participants,
As you all know, Governor Roy Cooper has mandated the closure of all NC K-12 schools through at least May 15th, as well as a Stay At Home order through the end of April. We recognize that everyone is being impacted by this pandemic, and we care deeply about our girls, families, and communities.
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel in-person Girls on the Run programming this spring, including the celebratory GOTR 5K on May 17th. We are incredibly disappointed, and we know you are too. As the situation has continued to escalate, it is clear that we must recognize our collective responsibility to ensure a safer and healthier community for all.
Please sign-up for our FREE GOTR WNC Virtual 5K to celebrate the girls and encourage them to continue to find the joy in movement.
We are so grateful for your support and for helping to make a difference in the lives of girls in our community. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions, concerns, or feedback that you may have.

Chase your dreams and celebrate all girls being joyful, healthy, and confident at the Great Beginnings & Great Smiles Girls on the Run of WNC 5K run and walk! It is family-friendly and open to the public. The 5K will be chip timed for community runners and running buddies. Runners and walkers of all ages and levels are encouraged to register.
Join hundreds of girls in grades 3-8 from throughout Western North Carolina, who have trained with volunteer coaches for the past 10 weeks, to participate in their spring celebratory end-of-season 5K. The Girls on the Run program combines running with lessons about important topics such as preventing bullying and processing emotions.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Girls on the Run of WNC scholarship fund, which aims to make the non-profit’s program accessible to all girls in the community, regardless of their ability to pay the registration fee.
IMPORTANT: Current Girls on the Run/Heart & Sole program participants and Coaches DO NOT need to register for the 5K.
If you need to pay your 5K entry with cash or check, please contact Stephanie Bilotta at (828) 713-3132 or email@example.com for assistance.
All participants who register by Thursday, April 24, 2020 are guaranteed to receive an event t-shirt at Runner Check-In. For registrations received after April 24th, t-shirts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, while supplies last.
