The Sheltered Sherpa is ready to guide us into 2021 with a challenging 8 week program with trail destinations for runners, hikers, walkers, the whole family and bring the dogs along too!

Join Us for another version of Circles Around the Triangle Challenge by SHELTERED EVENTS....the WINTER TRAILS will start on January 11th and runs through March 7th.
We are excited to mix in all same key ingredients from the Summer version but we updated the recipe to make it the perfect balance of Challenge + Reward to keep us motivated and warm all winter long! And every week will offer more incentives to get out there exploring build your own SWAG BOX!
THE CHALLENGE PART: 8 Week Challenge Jan 11 - Mar 7: Weekly Trail Destinations around the Triangle with Signature 'take your PIC!' locations, and NEW this version - "I dare you" challenges along the way! Note: ALL destinations and dare challenges will be suitable for everyone...runners, hikers, walkers, dog walkers and families!
THE REWARD PART: every Course, every Mile, every take your Pic!, and every Dare achieved equals Points which equal Rewards that end up in your SWAG BOX! We will start everyone's SWAG BOX with the Sheltered long-sleeved "Winter Trails" shirt, ...and to tickle your interest and make sure you stay out there earning points every week - we have many more items waiting to be added to your SWAG BOX. Including a Challenger Medal, symbolic Pins for your medal's ribbon, Sheltered Gear and Supplies, and we are partnering with local businesses to also add more items to our goodie inventory every week!
THE BASECAMP OPERATIONS: and of course, the Sheltered Sherpa is on staff to manage the back-office operations again! Sherpa will make sure everyone is on-boarded to Slack, announcing the Trail details and Dare Challenges, and keeping the lights on everyday for our challengers.

SLACK Channels - the engagement during our 15wk Summer Challenge was so amazing that we are eagerly looking forward to using SLACK again for our communications, signature PICs (photos), comments and all the fun banter amongst the challenger members!

EVERY Monday you will receive the Featured Weekly Trail Destinations, the 'take your PIC!' location, and Dare Challenges. You can substitute your own trail / pic locations if can't do the 'Featured' one that week. (traveling etc).

You have all week to get out there, enjoy the experience by running or walking, take your PIC! and send it in via Slack...this is the fun part for you but just wait until you see the PICs of everyone else out there in the same place and all the supportive comments and emojis in Slack aka The Sheltered Basecamp community.

Rewards / Points and Build Your SWAG BOX status will be communicated weekly but encouragement daily - we want you to fill you box with all the stuff from us and our community partners!
Take Your PIC!
Every Week and Every Trail will have a signature "Take Your Pic!" location, and then you post it on our Sheltered Slack Channels which leads to the Reward points which leads to Build Your Swag Box (you learned this already ; )
Here is just a small sample of "take your Pic! photos from our Summer Challenge, Featured Course #7 of 15 "Ramble Bramble" in Briar Chapel. Designer Luke Burrows created the Trail Head’s cedar woodwork frame, while Pittsboro artist Leslie Fersperman crafted the vibrantly colored glass panes within the trailhead structure of Briar Chapel's 24 mile trail system. Our featured course was a 3.5 mile section, many / most ran or hiked more....
