2019 CCSO Special Olympics Torch Run

This is for the Cumberland County Sheriffs leg of the statewide NC Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run. Cost for shirt is $22.50. All proceeds will go to sponsor athletes for the NC Special Olympics. You must be registered by May 21 to participate. You will also need to provide an ID card on the day of the run. This is not a race... but there is a time limit of about 1.5 hours since we have to pass the torch to the Fayetteville Police Dept at 9am. Due to road closures, the route may be shorter than previous years. It may be around 8 to 10 miles.

Shirts can  be picked up on Tuesday May 21 from 4pm to 6pm at the Cumberland County Sheriffs Office or on the morning of the rub. Registration is allowed at packet pickup but shirt sizes will not be guaranteed. 

Details of run: Each participating law enforcement agency across the state passes a torch throughout the month from one agency to the next. We will do the Cumberland County Sheriffs leg which is 11 miles (or less based on road closures). We will all meet at the Sheriffs Annex on Hwy 301, leave our cars, and will be drove to the Robeson county line. We will begin running at our own pace, and then stop at Hardees near the Crown Colisuem for about 20 minutes for snacks and water. We will leave there until we get near the Market House where we will finish in cadence and pass the torch to the Fayetteville Police Department.
