Description
Frye Regional’s Making Communities Healthier® 5K will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Frye Regional Medical Center. The name of the race - Making Communities Healthier®, is consistent with our mission to improve the overall health of the Greater Hickory area. We are committed to the wellbeing of our community and will dedicate the proceeds from the Making Communities Healthier® 5K to the Catawba County Backpack Program, which works with schools throughout the county to provide children with a backpack filled with food every Friday throughout the school year. Last year we were able to provide the Catawba County Backpack Program with a truck full of food and a check for over $2,500!
More than 10,000 children in Catawba County are food insecure. Please join us as a participant of the Making Communities Healthier® 5K. It costs $120 to sponsor a child in need to receive a backpack every Friday throughout the school year. With your help, we will have an opportunity to feed dozens of children.
