LEPRECHAUN DASH 5K / 10K

Join us on Saturday, March 15 for our fourth annual LEPRECHAUN DASH - YMCA 5K / 10K RUN FOR CHATHAM KIDS AND FAMILIES.

Come celebrate St. Patrick's Day and raise money for Chatham Kids to attend camps and after school and for members in the Chatham Community to attend the YMCA. Prizes for age groups as well as the best Leprechaun attire. No matter what, don't forget to wear green.

This year, we are hosting a NEW course as we are getting close to opening the new Chatham Park YMCA! Starting at the Chatham Park YMCA, you'll race through Chatham Park from the new YMCA in the North Village through the Vineyards neighborhood. This race coincides with the Grand Opening weekend for the Chatham Park YMCA.

THE CAUSE

All funds raised during the race support children and families in Chatham County through the YMCA Annual Campaign. Our Annual Campaign provides financial assistance for after school, summer day camps and YMCA membership. Each year, the Chatham YMCA provides $80,000 in scholarships for child care, youth-oriented programs and wellness opportunities where we seek to build people through outdoor activities, sports, leadership development, healthy living and more. 

THE FEES & REGISTRATION

Race fees include your Hipster Leprechaun T-Shirt and support for a great cause. Register on RunSignUp. Group discounts available (contact the race director).

Today through March 13:  $45 for the 5K and $50 for the 10K
March 14 - 15 (Race Day):  $55 for the 5K and $65 for the 10K

THE TSHIRT

Every participant registering by February 28 will be guaranteed to receive a Hipster Leprechaun t shirt. After March 1, shirts will be available while supplies last. 

THE COURSE

Runners will start at the new Chatham Park YMCA. The start will proceed down Parkland Drive and turn onto Chatham Parkway. Runners will turn into the Vineyards neighborhood on Wendover Parkway then follow greenways, sidewalks, and shoulders through the neighborhood. The 5K and 10K will share the course with 5K runners turning around a bit sooner. 

WALKERS

Want to walk either course? You're welcome to. We plan to keep our timing set up until at least 11 am. We just ask that you follow sidewalks and cross walks. We can not guarantee police presence past 10:30 am.

STROLLER AND PET POLICY

Baby strollers/joggers are permitted, but for the safety of all participants please start at the back behind the runners and walkers.

Pets are not allowed on the race course.

PARKING AND PACKET PICKUP

Parking:
Race day parking will be available at the Chatham Park YMCA (120 Parkland Drive, Pittsboro, NC 27312). 

Packet Pickup:
You can pick up your bibs and t-shirts on either Friday night or Saturday morning. Friday pickup will run from 4:30 - 7:00 pm at the Chatham Park YMCA. Saturday morning pickup opens at 7:00 and will close at 8:20 am. We ask that you please arrive early on Saturday to avoid the last-minute rush before the race start. As an incentive, we will have coffee by 7:30am.

For your friends and family who want to join last minute, we’ll have race day registration available on both Friday and Saturday.
