Why Build a Dog Park?
Dog Parks and Walks in Salisbury (Dog PAWS) is a volunteer citizen group with a simple goal; we want to develop Salisbury's first public dog park for any four-legged canine creature to love. In urban communities, these parks are a great amenity for our canine friends. This park offers owner the opportunity to meet other residents as well as provide a great, safe place to bring their dogs for socialization and off leash exercise and training.
The Salisbury Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan, approved in 2009, includes the creation of a Dog Park within our community. Working together with Parks and Recreation, we were able to develop a design and fundraising strategy that City Council unanimously approved in October, 2012.
There are amenities we would like to add to the park including trees, branches, and water fountains.
