Running of the Elves, 2018

The race is on December 1st, 2018 5:00 pm. Downtown Statesville, NC.   

This will be 5k running road race through historic areas of downtown Statesville. The course will go through Christmas lights and carolers cheering the runners on. There will be a custom contest before the race.  We have some very strong costumes, so come to impress.

5k  registration can be done on this site or in person at the early pack pick up or on Race Day starting at 3pm. We will also announce when and where the early pack pick up will be a week or so before the race. 

The mission of the RUNNING OF THE ELVES 5K is to become a catalyst of hope in the lives of local families and in the activities of charitable organizations who have financial needs. Beginning with the 2016 race and going forward, the profit from each race will be donated to a local family or charitable organization in our community.  This year we are very proud to be donating the proceeds from the event to the Stephanie Kastor Chapman Memorial Scholarship. The course has been posted in the pictures folder. The course is flat and goes through Downtown Statesville with all the Christmas lights and decorations.  There will also be door prizes and give-a-ways. Each entry will get a gift bag.  This year we are switching it up and trying something different.  Since this is a fund raiser and are raising money for charitable organizations, we are going to handle the timing a little different.  We have decided not to do chip timing this year and save the expense.  We will have timing there and you will be able to see you time when you cross the line.  We hope this will not only help raise more money, but make the event for fun and family friendly.  Please don't hesitate to email with any questions.  It will be the same course as last year.

You can register and pick up packs on Race Day from 3pm to 4:45pm.  
Costume Contest 4:00PM
The race will start at 5PM SHARP.
