Event Description
Our inaugural 2026 Harmon Field Half Marathon and Morris Fun Run was an overwhelming success! It is with great joy that we will be holding the second annual race on April 24, 2027. We are exciting to continue supporting Harmon Field with this much loved, scenic, out-and-back, 13.1-mile race through the beautiful "Hunting Country" of Polk County, NC, and the fun run held at our beautiful park.
Our vision for last year’s inaugural race was for it to bring together runners, walkers, spectators, and families for a day of fitness, fun, and community impact, and we did exactly that. With exactly 250 registered participants, and additional spectators and vendors, our race exceeded all expectations. We were able to raise over $11,000 for Harmon Field.
Our unique race course has been loved by runners for many years. We hope you will join us again on this beautiful route! We have also have the Morris Fun Run! This fun run will be 1.68 miles and will take in the beauty of Harmon Field. Perfect for kids and families to come out and enjoy the day! Morris is the beloved Tryon Horse and can be seen at the intersection of Trade Street and Pacolet Street in Downtown Tryon! Don't forget to stop by and take a selfie with him while you are in town!

Harmon Field Races FAQ
Yes, the Harmon Field Half Marathon has a 4-hour cut off time. You will be permitted to finish the race past the allowable time, but traffic control and EMS services will no be available. Course time is 8am-12pm. The Morris Fun Run has no time limit.
All participants for both the Harmon Field Half Marathon and Morris Fun Run will receive a finisher medal. T-Shirts must be designated at registration and there will be a firm cut-off date to register to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Date to be determined.
- Yes, there are 4 water stops along the half marathon course. Participants will pass each water stop twice. Stops will include both water and gatorade options only. No other fuel options will be provided.
- The fun run will have one water stop half around the half way point.
Yes, parking is free and is it located in designated areas inside of Harmon Field. There will be plenty of signage on race day for designated parking.
Yes, there are full restrooms available at Harmon Field as well as standard and ADA porta-potties with a hand-wash station. There are two standard porta-potties along the half-marathon course between Miles 5 and 6. You will pass these porta-potties twice. There are no porta-potties along the fun run course.
Yes, race registration is open until 7:55am on race morning. Registration is online ONLY through RunSignUp.
Packet pickup will be at the Harmon Field concession stand (look for signage) on Friday, April 23rd from 5pm-7pm, as well as race morning Saturday, April 24th from 6am-8am.
