All walking/running events at Cub Creek are cancelled, gathering at Merle's is still a go!
 

Dear Chad Lovette Memorial Trail Run/Walk participants and sponsors, 

Updated plan: We are so sorry about the devastation that the hurricane brought to Wilkes and so many places and people around us.

We will still be meeting at Merle's Cocktail Lounge at 106 E Main Street, Wilkesboro, tomorrow beginning at noon to distribute t-shirts and to gather with friends and family who can safely join us. . Cocktails/mocktails, Food Truck, and live music from our friends and family will be happening all afternoon! Music by The Rocky Point Band: Rick Lovette, Keith Johnston, Jim Trice, Andy Rhodes, and Wes Whitson; Shay Martin Lovette and friends: Locke Griffith, and Drew Walker. We hope you and your friends will join us at Merle's for fellowship and celebration of Chad's beautiful life. Non-race participants are welcome, too, so bring your friends (and chairs) and meet us at Merle's!

We will mail and deliver T-shirts beginning next week to those of you who can't join us.

Your race registration goes to support American Cancer Society, but we do understand if you prefer a race registration refund, so please reach out directly to chadlovettememorialtrailrun@gmail.com to request a race registration refund.

Greetings! The Chad Lovette Memorial Trail Run Hosted by Carolina in the Fall and Chad's family will be held on 9/28/2024 at Cub Creek Park in Wilkesboro, NC!

This year we are planning an afterparty at Merle's Cocktail Bar in Wilkesboro with live music - lineup to be announced later. 

We look forward to welcoming newcomers and past participants for this fun trail run. Also available -- the virtual fun run/walk option for those that are not able to make it in person (but who really want that T-shirt!)  Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society, specifically The Steel Magnolia's Battle/Necessary Relay for Life Team.

A donation of $150 or more gets your name on the back of the race T-shirt and two free T's. Please reach out to chadlovettetrailrun@gmail.com for more info. 

We now have Facebook and Instagram pages (@ChadLovetteMemorialTrailRun) and hope that you will follow us tag us in a photo or video when completing your run/walk. Interested in being a race sponsor?

NOTE: THE T-SHIRT DEADLINE is extended to September 14, 2024

Registration: Registration will be available on-line through September 27 at noon. Day of race registration will be available, but no T-shirts will be available for registrations after September 14. The Virtual Trail Run/Walk will be active through October 4th to allow the donation portal to remain open. 

More about our beloved Chad Lovette and the inspiration for this run: Chad was a native of Wilkes County and passed away on July 9, 2016 after an extended battle with brain cancer. Chad was a graduate of Wilkes Central High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He was a singer/songwriter and most enjoyed playing music with his band, Green House, and with his brother. His passions were traveling far and wide, hiking, surfing, camping, and living large with his family and friends. This race is in honor of Chad's love for life, the outdoors, music, and fellowship.
