Description
The Feet for the Street 5K, was created to raise awareness and much needed financial support for the Winston-Salem Street School, a private, nonprofit alternative educational option for at-risk high school students in the Forsyth County area. The Street School combines small class sizes, caring, individualized attention, and an unwavering belief that the students we serve, when given a second chance, can not only thrive in high school, but be better prepared for success in life as well.
In the last 20 years, 354 students have overcome personal issues and learning difficulties to graduate and receive an accredited high school diploma from the Street School. These are students who many had little hope for and who in most cases, had very limited expectations for themselves before coming to the Street School. Since the Street School is a nonprofit organization, your support directly impacts our ability to provide life-changing services for our students. By participating in events like the Feet for the Street 5K & 7 Miler, you are making a difference!
We are excited for the third year of our 7 Miler event! This course will take runners around the loop that circles beautiful Salem Lake. Thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, prize money will be up for grabs for the top male and female finishers of the 5K and 7 Miler events. This race is now truly an event for all levels of participants, from those who love a little exercise to the serious competitive runners looking to win some money for their hard work.
Course Description and Awards
The Feet for the Street 5K course starts and finishes on the Salem Lake trail, directly beside the playground, parking lot and restroom facilities at the main entrance to the lake. This makes for a wonderful venue for all who participate and attend. The 7 Miler covers the loop around Salem Lake, with the start / finish located at the same location as the 5K. Race results will be posted immediately following the events and on ours's and the Twin City Track Club's websites.
Award Information
Custom designed finisher medals will be available for all participants of both events at the finish line. There will be special awards for the top three male and female 5K overall winners and cash prizes for the top three male and female 7 Miler winners as well. Awards will be handed out immediately after the races.

First Place in each Age Group - Male and Female receive a $20 Fleet Feet gift card

Make sure to look for and congratulate members of the Winston-Salem Street School Running Club, many of whom will be taking part in their first ever 5K race.
Packet Pickup
Packet pick-up will take place both Friday afternoon (4/25/25), from 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm, at the Winston-Salem Street School (630 West 6th Street, W-S, NC 27101), and race day morning at the check-in area, near the Salem Lake playground area. This will take place from 7:30 am - 8:30 am, with the 7 Miler beginning at 8:45 am and the 5K race at 9:00 am.
