Long-distance running enthusiasts recognize the third Monday in April as“Marathon Monday", the traditional date of the Boston Marathon. This year, the Boston Marathon has been moved to September 14 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In honor of the traditional Marathon Monday and those who were scheduled to run on April 20.2020, we are adding marathon distance races to our virtual race offerings for this week and extending the race period to include Marathon Monday. Marathon distances can be run as an individual or as a virtual relay team. See below for more information about running as a virtual team.

The recent COVID-19 crisis has disrupted all of our lives and resulted in the cancellation of most near-term running races. We feel your pain. Twin City Track Club is presenting this virtual race opportunity so you can keep doing what you enjoy while staying in compliance with the safety and health guidelines of public health officials and governing bodies.
Customize your bib! Open and download the bib file. Change the bib number to match your assigned bib. Then print and cut around the edges. You’re ready to race!
We will select 3 Virtual Race finishers by random drawing and award these finishers with coupons to local retailers/restaurants and/or the TCTC store. Coupons will be valued at $10 each. Stay tuned for more information about the coupon retailers for this week.
You must register to participate and registration must be completed no later than Monday afternoon.
Note: extended to Monday this week only in honor of the traditional date for the Boston Marathon.
You can run your virtual race anytime on Saturday, Sunday or Monday up until 7:45 pm. Results must be reported no later than 8:00pm on Monday..
You can run on any course you choose. GPS distances and treadmill dashboards are acceptable for distance verifications.
Note that you must be registered and have an assigned bib number to submit results. Look up your bib number on your registration confirmation email or on the Find A Participant link above after registering.
Registration caps established to keep virtual race results processing manageable. Caps may be lifted after we gain more experience with Virtual Races.
Virtual Marathon Teams can range from 2-5 people and the team must complete 26.2 miles in total distance. Team members should coordinate with each other to verify the distance each runner completes and their individual time.
Unlike traditional relay teams, there is no physical handoff of the baton. Each segment can be run anytime during the open race period and in any order. Each team will upload their results through an online form (see instructions below). Results must be uploaded no later than 8:00pm on Monday evening and overall results will be posted online later that evening.
Please practice social distancing and other safe hygiene practices that can also help prevent the spread of germs.
