THE LAST MAN STANDING RACE

This exciting new race takes place on the Point to Point trail on the East end of Medora, ND. The trail is a 1.5 mile 'lollipop' trail with approximately 400' of vertical gain, with an epic stair climb in the first quarter mile that takes you up to the top of the butte. Once you summit the butte you will have the most amazing views of Medora and the Badlands, while you run the rest of the lap to get back to the starting line on time.

From the time the gun goes off until Sundown each participant will have 1 hour to complete this 1.5 mile loop. This  will give parents the opportunity to do some fun laps with their children, or entire family if they choose, throughout the day. Each participant will have to complete their lap and be at the starting line to start their next lap at the top of every hour.

When the sun goes down, the anti is upped. At sunset the allotted time to run a lap is shortened from 1 hour to complete a loop down to 45 minutes.  At this time each participant will have to complete their lap within 45 minutes and be at the starting line promptly at the next 45 minute mark to begin their next lap.

Finally, to step it up a notch in intensity, at Sunrise the time will again be shortened to 30 minutes per lap. At the top and bottom of every hour a new lap will start. Each participant will be required to finish their existing lap within the 30 minute time frame and be at the starting line to begin their next lap at the 30 minute mark.

For each of these time frames every participant must complete their lap within the allotted time and be at the starting line ready to go when the next timed lap begins. If a person doesn't finish their lap within the allotted timeframe their race will be over. The race will continue until there is only 1 person left running, and that person will be the winner.

For this race there will be 4 divisions. There will be an adult division for anybody 18 years of age or older, where the last man or woman standing will win the coveted Last Man Standing title, along with 3 kids divisions. They'll be 6 and under, 7-12, and 13-17.
