The Scheels BurliMOT Half Marathon is a unique running event that showcases the beautiful communities of Burlington, ND and Minot, ND by way of a scenic 13.1 mile course that follows the Souris Valley along dedicated running/biking paths. The race ends in downtown Minot at The Depot.
All runners registered by August 1st will receive a custom BurliMOT shirt.
Packets can be picked up at the Scheels entrance on the west side of Dakota Square Mall between 4:00 and 7:00 pm on Friday August 14th. We will have a table set up outside and will be offering you curbside pickup at this time. You may also pick up your packet the morning of the event at the start of each event (Burlington Sports Complex for half marathon participants and Oak Park for 5K participants).
Parking is available at the Burlington Sports Complex for half marathoners (see map attached), in Oak Park for the 5K participants (see map attached), and throughout downtown including the parking garages for those using the shuttles.
There will be fun bus shuttles available to transport participants to the start of the events. Space is very limited on the shuttles so we ask that if possible, please car pool or line up alternate transportation to the start. MASKS ARE REQUIRED while riding on the buses. For those that need to take the shuttles they will pick up runners in front of The Depot at 15 Main St N. Buses will be leaving promptly at 7:00am and 7:50am for the half marathon; and 8:30 am for the 5K. We recommend getting there early and securing a spot because there are only about 40 spots available per load. There will be one shuttle scheduled to run back to Burlington at 1:00pm to drop off anyone that needs a ride heading that direction.
Available at the 5k and half marathon start locations. Your items will be transported to the end for retrieval inside the Depot.
Half Marathon: 8:30 am August 15th at the Burlington Sports Complex on River Road in Burlington.
5K: 9:00 am August 15th at Oak Park near the white bandshell/stage.
Social Distancing / Masks
We do not require that you wear a mask while running but we do require that you wear a mask while on the bus and in any area where you are unable to distance yourself 6 ft apart. We will mark the start with Xs at 6ft apart so that everyone can spread out.
The routes will be thoroughly marked with route arrows on the ground as well as signage and volunteer direction. The half marathon starts in Burlington, the 5K starts in Oak Park but they join together and both end at the Depot in downtown Minot.
