About: 

Miles for Team Jack is an annual virtual miles challenge directed by Fleet Feet Nebraska and The Team Jack Foundation. The challenge came to life in 2020 during a difficult time for all non-profit organizations, communities, families, and individuals. More specifically our team was inspired by The Team Jack Foundation Founder, Andy Hoffman's story. 

Andy was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in late July 2020. On March 1, 2021 he passed away surrounded by his family. Andy, Father of Jack Hoffman, was an advocate and an influential voice in the awareness of childhood brain cancer. After Jack was diagnosed with brain cancer 10 years ago, Andy dedicated his time to fighting with Jack, and in 2020-21 continued his own fight. 

Now the fight continues...

Through our platform; what better way to honor and support the Hoffman family, than running/walking to honor Andy and all the children and families affected by brain cancer. 

So we present to you Miles for Team Jack, our September Miles Challenge! We are partnering with the Team Jack Foundation by donating 100% of the proceeds back to the foundation. 

It gets better, September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! We believe this challenge will bring awareness to all forms of childhood cancer, but more specifically fighting for childhood brain cancer awareness with Team Jack!

Challenge Details

Registration Options: 
- 50 Miles - Individual or Team 
- 100 Miles - Individual or Team 

Cost: $25 - for each participant
For either option - each participant receives a t-shirt with the "Miles for Team Jack" logo!

How it works: 
Participants can choose to register as a Team or Individual. Teams will consist of 10 or less participants. The goal remains the same for each individual participant: 50 or 100 miles through the entire month. 

Example: Team Fleet Feet Lincoln registered under the 50 Mile Challenge with 8 participants. Each individual team member would register under Team/Group: Fleet Feet Lincoln. Members of the team would still have the goal to run/walk 50 Miles individually by the end of the month, but also Run Signup will automatically compile their miles with their other team members to compete against other teams! 

We encourage families, friends, businesses, gyms, etc. to create their own teams as a part of the challenge! 

Teams can be groups of 10 or less participants!

Starting September 1st at 12am you can start running/walking...well don't wait until then, but you get the idea! Many of us will be taking on the challenge day-by-day and mile-by-mile. Some participants might set up the challenge to go 50 or 100 miles in a single day, whatever your pace is, we are in this together! We encourage meeting up with other members of Miles for Team Jack and setting up team group walk/runs! This is a great way to stay connected and committed! 

REMEMBER that in order to complete the challenge you need to finish the 50 or 100 miles by September 30th at 11:59pm.

For this challenge, there are no single "winners/places" we are all setting our own challenge with the same end goal! HOWEVER, with our two categories (individual and Teams) we have some fun incentives! We will have prizes for top milage, our social butterflies, top fundraising team and more! Help your team by meeting the challenge goal and sharing your experiences along the way! MORE DETAILS TO COME FOR PRIZES!

As a participant you will record your miles through run signup under the results tab! We encourage you to update your results daily or weekly! You can do it at a time that is best for you! The results will be live so you can see where other teams or individuals are throughout the challenge! 

 
Shipping:
You can choose to have your t-shirt mailed to you. The shipping fee will be $5 and will ship out starting September 20th.
 

In-store Pick-Up:
If you choose to pick up your t-shirt in-store there will be NO additional charge. Pick-up will start on September 20th at Fleet Feet Lincoln and Fleet Feet Omaha!
