2020 Novo Nordisk New Jersey Marathon & Half Marathon - VIRTUAL EDITION

For safety reasons, the actual NJM race courses are not available for a virtual run.  You can make your own course anywhere you'd usually safely train; find your favorite 26.2 mile, 13.1 mile, 6.2 mile, or 3.1 mile routes and get it done (safely) there.  A treadmill works, laps around the neighborhood, a long country road, or a beach adventure, you get to choose! 

Log your run finish time(s) in your RunSignUp profile for the NJM - VIRTUAL EDITION!

You will receive a reminder email just before the start of the event that contains a direct link to post your results.  These instructions describe two of the easiest ways to log your time. 

• From the RunSignup Race Page -- Navigate to the RunSignup race page > select the Results tab > select Submit Virtual Result.  Search for your registration, select Submit Virtual Results > enter in your time > select Submit/Update Results.
• From Your RunSignup Profile -- Navigate to your RunSignup profile by selecting the Profile Icon at the top right hand corner.  Under your Upcoming Events > select Submit Virtual Results > enter in your time > select Submit/Update Results.
• When you are in the RESULTS page, search for / click on your name.   Once you load a time and get a Success message, you can see yourself in the roster, edit or update with a new run new time, all for yourself.  And sending results up can be completed quickly without a full log-in by entering your E-mail or last 4 digits of your phone number!

For convenience, RunSignup supports the ability for participants to submit virtual results manually, or by uploading their GPS activity recorded while using third party types of tracking tools.  (Two very common formats of data are GPX and FIT, which services like Garmin and Strava use to store activity data.)  Personalized data will automatically fill in, including the Distance, Date, Elevation Gain, and Time fields from the activity file being submitted.  More details here - https://runsignup.blog/2020/06/24/raceday-virtual-results-now-supports-personal-gps-activity-submission/  

All activity progress results can always be manually posted. 

UPDATE on the 2020 NJM In-Person Cancel Process - 

The Postpone announcement for the 2020 NJM events was direct emailed to all registrants on August 15.  Additionally messages were posted on the main NJM web pages and on social media sites for how to indicate an option choice from the offered alternatives.  The deadline for logging an option choice was midnight September 8.  
If you marked your choice in the NJM Virtual 'race' form, that will have filled in the response log - and we are now in the steps of crunching down that response log, manually updating all entries, getting retail credits, defers, and Virtual race entries set.  The intent is to have all updates in place by approximately September 15.   
You are able to check your RunSignUp profile at any time to confirm your NJM entry status.   RunSignUp  
*  Virtual NJM November registrants will be able to find profile records for both the original and virtual NJM race listings.  The original Main race will show a switch to the Virtual event.  The Virtual race will show an active status entry for the original purchased  NJM distance.  Retail credit $20 instructions will come via direct email, and in winter 2020 when the 2021 NJM registration process opens, the $20 entry discount for the 2021 race will also be emailed.  
* Deferred 2020 registrants will be able to find profile records for both the original Main and Virtual NJM race listings in their profile, and not in the race listings "Find a Participant" tool search.  For the Novo Nordisk New Jersey Marathon & Half Marathon, the current "date" of the 2020 NJM races is displayed as November 14-15.   A status of "Deferred" of that November roster entry means to the next year- April 2021.  In winter 2020 when the 2021 NJM registration process opens, all defer status registrants will receive instructions on how to redeem that defer and be set for racing down the shore in 2021.  (Event distance switches for 2021 can be made at that time of registration.) 
*  Retail Credit registrants will be able to find profile records for both the original Main and virtual NJM race listings.  Both will show a switch to the Retail Credit 'event'.  Credit values are unique to each registrant's original entry purchase.  Those amounts are being crunched with the plan to have custom credit codes distributed via direct email by September 15.
