General Race Information
The 8th Annual “Taking Strides Towards Wellness" 5K Run/Walk & Kid Sprint will be held on Saturday, October 12th at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater. This is also a family fun day with crafts, taekwondo exhibition, snacks, vendor tables and more.
This race is on a USATF-NJ Certified Course. The course is extremely flat on a paved wooded trail that parallels the Raritan River. To see the course map, copy and paste this link:
Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers overall for each gender as well as the top 3 per age group. Age groups will be 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over.
Registration and Packet Pick up will start at 8 AM, with the 5K Run/Walk starting at 9 AM, the Kid Sprint at 10:00 AM, and Award Ceremony at 10:30 AM. Free 100% Poly WICKING Performance T-Shirt to ALL pre-registrants. Registration fees prior to 10/09 are $25 + sign-up fee for the 5K Run/Walk ($22 for USATF-NJ Members) and $10 + sign-up fee for the Kid Sprint. Fees go up by $5 after 10/09.
Race Sign-up Incentives:
If a paid participant donates or gets donations equal to or greater than $125, he/she will be refunded his/her $25 registration fee.
If a paid participant gets 4 other people to register and pay for this event, he/she will be refunded his/her $25 registration fee.
