Description
The CinnaMiles Challenge for Kids encourages kids in the Cinnaminson, NJ area to stay active and unite efforts to make a difference in their community. The challenge is open to all kids in Cinnaminson, NJ and neighboring areas (up to and including high school) and is sponsored by the Cinnaminson Running Club. For every mile logged by each participant, either through running or walking, during the month of May, the Cinnaminson Running Club will donate $1 (up to a maximum of $3,000). On behalf of all the participants, all proceeds from the challenge will go to local organizations supporting COVID-19 relief efforts as well as local organizations chosen by the participants for each age group with the most miles accumulated throughout the challenge.
REGISTRATION
The challenge is free to all participants. Please register so that we have each participant's name, age, gender, and contact information.
LOGGING YOUR MILES
You can log your miles by either running or walking, wherever you would like, whenever you would like, and as often as you would like during the month of May, as long as you’re staying safe, practicing social distancing, and abiding by the CDC's recommendations for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19. If you're not sure about the number of miles covered, you can just estimate as best as you can, 1 mile for about every 10-12 minutes of running or 20 minutes of walking.
REPORTING YOUR MILES
To report your miles, just send an email to Rich Wojnar at rwojnar@comcast.net, send a private message to Rich Wojnar or Cinnaminson Running Club on Facebook, or text Rich Wojnar at 215-756-2504 with your child’s name, the date(s) of the activity, and the number of miles. There is no minimum amount of mileage per day, especially for the younger participants - if you ran around for about 3 minutes or went for a 5 minute walk, you can submit 0.25 miles as an example for that day. Every little bit matters and adds up! We ask that you report the miles as frequently as you can, ideally daily and no less frequently than weekly, as we will have a results tracker available throughout the challenge.
SETTING GOALS
Feel free to set your own personal goal (e.g. 10 miles, 25 miles, etc.) for the challenge and work towards achieving your goal - totally optional though! In addition to the $1 / mile donation by the Cinnaminson Running Club, if you have family and friends that would like to donate towards your efforts, they can use the Donate link on this website - again, totally optional!
SHARING PHOTOS / VIDEOS
Feel free to share any photos and videos when you report your miles, or share them online by tagging #CinnaMilesChallenge and @CinnaminsonRunningClub.
