Helene Cody Cranbury 5K Run/Walk
One Mile Fun Run/Walk
Description
This event honors the memory of Helene Cody, who passed away from a brain aneurysm on her 16th birthday in 2008. Helene had planned to revive the Cranbury Day 5K that had been previously discontinued as a way to combine her love of distance running and community service. Her classmate hosted the first Helene Cody Cranbury 5K after her passing in 2008, and ever since, the Helene Cody Foundation has used the race to bring the community together and fund youth service projects and scholarships.
T-shirts are guaranteed to those who register by August 6th! T-shirts will be given to registrants while supplies last for those who register after August 6th.
There are 2 packet pickup nights this year! The first is on Wednesday, September 3rd at Fleet Feet Princeton (Princeton Running Company) from 5-7 PM. The second is on Thursday, September 4th at the Cranbury branch of Princeton Soup and Sandwich Company from 4-6 PM. Those who have preregistered may pick up their T-shirt/bottle and race bib at this event to avoid the lines on race day.
Race day packet pickup is from 7:30-8:00 AM for the 1 Mile, and from 7:30-8:30 AM for the 5K at Heritage Park.
All proceeds go to the Helene Cody Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity with the mission of inspiring youth to volunteer, to better their communities and themselves. Your donations will support youth-led projects benefiting Central NJ.

We are looking for volunteers to help with all stages of the event-- directing parking, helping with registration, pointing the way on the course, serving food and setup/cleanup. You will play a pivotal role in the success of the event by ensuring a streamlined and safe environment for our runners and walkers. Please consider signing up for a shift to help this community event continue for many more years to come! All ages welcome and community service verification is provided if needed.
